Options dialog, Saving Pictures tab

The Saving Pictures tab specifies how to save pictures. These options affect all cameras connected to the computer equally.

Method   Select File or FTP. This method is used for all pictures until another method is selected.

Number of digits in the counter   The counter is the trailing part of the generated picture file name. It is initially filled in with zeros.

Enter the number of digits you wish to have in the counter. If the number you enter is too small and the counter cannot fit into that number of digits, the length of the counter is increased as needed.

Single Camera mode: automatically save pictures after capture  This setting applies only to taking single pictures with one camera at a time. If selected, Cam2Com saves pictures automatically using the specified save method into the specified "root folder" and generates file names using the specified method. Specify all these settings in the tabs for FTP Options and File Options.

All-cameras mode: automatically save pictures after capture  This setting applies only to simultaneous picture taking with multiple cameras. If selected, Cam2Com saves pictures from all cameras automatically using the specified save method into the specified "root folder" and generates file names using the specified method. Specify all these settings in the tabs for FTP Options and File Options.

The area under the Use Camera ID as is used to specify how to auto- generate the file name when saving pictures:

File prefix; put all files into the root folder   The Camera ID is used as a file prefix. Then follows a counter, a number of digits that can be configured in the General tab, and file extension appropriate for the format of the image file.

This is why it is important to select different IDs for different cameras.

Folder name (create folders as needed)   The Camera ID is used as the name of the folder where all of the pictures from that camera are saved. This folder is created automatically in the "root folder," the path to which can be configured in the tab for the specific save method - File Options or FTP Options.

File Prefix   If Folder Name is selected, type the file prefix that would be used for every image file along with the counter and proper extension here.
