Advanced Options: General Tab

These options are specific to the camera model they relate to.

Select “Camera|Advanced Settings...” or click the toolbar button. Then select tab General.

Olympus "Rye" cameras

Use only one of: LCD or Preview If selected, Cam2Com will automatically turn off LCD when preview starts, or turn preview off when LCD is turned on. For some cameras having both LCD and preview makes both LCD and preview flasing.

Take pictures in buffer bypassing media in the camera Some cameras have the ability to store captured images in the buffer, from where they  can be downloaded, without saving them on the media card. This may save up to 10 seconds per picture if TIFF format is used. Because Cam2Com usually deletes the picture from the media card (after downloading it into the computer) anyway, selecting this setting makes a lot of sense.

This setting is disabled if "Leave pictures in the camera..." is selected. Cam2Com then instructs the camera to write pictures to the media and does not delete them.

External flash If selected, the camera will use external flash if it is connected. If not, it will use only internal flash.

Olympus "Wheat" cameras

Use only one of: LCD or Preview If selected, Cam2Com will automatically turn off LCD when preview starts, or turn preview off when LCD is turned on. For some cameras having both LCD and preview makes both LCD and preview flasing.

Briefly turn LCD of and the on on after changing zoom When adjusting zoom, and the camera LCD is on, briefly turn the LCD of and on every time zoom is adjusted. Without that some cameras go out of focus and do not display sharp image on the LCD.
